Reescribiendo las letras
 ¿Os imagináis que la letra de All The Way To Reno fuera sobre la vida de Anakin Skywalker? "You know what you are? You"re gonna be a Darth" ¿O que Stipe trabajara en un McDonald"s y lo explicará con la melodía de Drive? "Lip smack, Big Mac. Time to get another snack, baby".Más. ¿Y si Lex Luthor le cantara a Superman con la melodía de Electrolite? "Lois Lane is here with me. I've got your queen. Nothing obscene" ¿Y si en Bang And Blame nos explicaran qué pasa cuando vas a la cárcel? "Your secret strife of indiscreet instructions" Son sólo algunos ejemplos de letras escritas parodiando las originales. Hace años que en la página amiright unen musica y humor (que Les Luthiers me ha quedado eso) y se recopilan miles de ellas. De todos los artistas que os podáis imaginar. Y claro, R.E.M. no podía faltar. ¿Y si un emo hubiera escrito la letra de E-Bow The Letter? "Have you thought of dating me? Think you'll like the misery?" O si Animal fuera sobre un caníbal "... Hey, you're my next meal, I'm a cannibal". O imaginaos que I Don't Sleep, I Dream se convierte en All the Sheep Will Scream, y trata de un animal siendo sacrificado. Naturalmente, las canciones más conocidas son las más parodiadas. Así, Losing My Religion se transforma en Watching Television, Losing My Virginity, Britney Ain't No Virgin, Feeding my Pet Pigeon, Losing All My Vision, Losing My Erection, Making My Revisions, Too Much Decorations, y así un largo etcétera. Everybody Hurts se convierte en Everybody Hurls, Everybody Burps, Everybody's Drunk o en la divertida Everybody's Girl, que empieza diciendo: "I will say it's wrong ... But your wife, your wife's not yours alone". Finest Worksong se transforma en un alegato sobre la globalización en China"s Worksong. Y Driver 8 nos explica la historia de un viaje en coche con los niños gritando continuamente si ya hemos llegado. "We saw a treehouse on the outskirts of a farm. The children were excited and they said they want one too". Y Bittersweet Me se remodela para cantar sobre las leyes que pretenden censurar internet. "They'd sooner increase layoffs. Than give us a listen. How easy they try to end all this. The internet's free" En fin, os dejo con el listado completo para que vosotros mismos descubráis otras perlas. Encontrad a David Beckham, a Lara Croft, a The Beatles o a Harry Potter. Los más frikis, no os perdáis la versión de Man on the Moon sobre Super Mario. "Magic potions to get coins and life, yeah yeah yeah yeah". Aunque os dejo con mi preferida de todas. The One I Love y la viagra.
